Senator Herb Kohl was instrumental in securing funding for our ramp reconstruction project. The project is scheduled to go to bid in May, with construction to start the last week of July. The project is expected to take 90 days and will have two phases; so that access to part of the ramp for parking, fueling, etc., will always be available.
Some key design features of the ramp project include:
- Grading of the surface area for improved drainage and water sheeting.
- Heavy aircraft parking areas – 60 x 180 concrete pad for long-term parking.
- 60 x 60 concrete pad near the terminal for short-term passenger disembarking and loading.
- 60 x 60 concrete pad for fueler parking.
- Removal and decommissioning of the NDB.
- Addition of 5 parking spaces for light aircraft.
